Urgent Primary Care

Urgent Primary Care

A doctor speaking with her patient

We conduct high-quality, multi-disciplinary research and evaluation into how urgent primary health care services are delivered, and how same-day community care interfaces with the wider acute health system. Our work in this area aims to understand how primary care provision can best meet the urgent health and social care needs of patients and their carers, improving clinical and experiential outcomes. Areas of specific interest and expertise include researching alternatives to acute hospital admission, optimisation of primary care workforce in- and out-of-hours, digital and diagnostic technologies that support same-day care in the community, and unscheduled care for patients experiencing complex frailty and multi-morbidity.
