Getting Involved

A group of hands together showing the power of team work

Getting involved

REACH is a hub of expert researchers and clinicians in the field of urgent and emergency care. We work in partnership with NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, and have strong links to healthcare providers and services in the southwest of England, nationally and internationally.

Current research priorities

Following a consultation with attendees at our 2021 showcase event, and guidance from our steering group, REACH’s priorities are:

  • Admission avoidance
  • Mental health
  • Digital transfer

Whilst focusing on these three areas, all our work will: align with local priorities, consider the impact of health inequalities on use and access to services, and focus on knowledge mobilisation.

We welcome continued growth through new collaborations, and by offering support to developing researchers and trainees:

If you are a clinician who wants to get into research in this field, or a researcher seeking to collaborate, please contact  REACHContact@uwe.ac.uk or one of the team directly.

If you are a student, or considering a career in emergency care, then you may wish to contact either the Trainee Emergency Research Network (TERN) or The Emergency Care Incubator, both hosted by REACH.
